froth (2019)
a meditation on disconnected lives of characters living on the edge of the barents sea set against ghostly remains of a bygone era. the vast northern landscapes, rendered in blue-gray tones where sea merges with sky, establish an otherworldly, mythical atmosphere amplified by the characters' physical isolation. the spacious typography and minimalist promotional materials mirror both the characters' alienation and the ephemeral quality of their existence, like bubbles forming momentarily on the water's surface.
froth premiered to critical acclaim at the amsterdam international documentary festival, where it received a special mention.
